The concept of a Heritage Centre at RAF Biggin Hill, the most famous fighter base in the world, goes back some 30 or more years. Today there is St George’s RAF Chapel, the original of which was destroyed by fire in 1946, resulting in a rebuild on the present site after a campaign to raise the money was led by the then Chaplin Rev. C. King. People from all over the world come to visit the Chapel and, after paying their respects, ask the same question: ‘Where is the museum? Is this all there is?’
The Biggin Hill Battle of Britain Supporters’ Club was formed in 2006. At the Inaugural meeting held in January that year the committee was formed and since have held monthly committee meetings and the Annual General meeting.
